Winter Garden

“However many years she lived, Mary always felt that she should never forget that first morning when her garden began to grow.”

—Frances Hodgson Burnett, The Secret Garden

I’m not sure if it’s the sun exposure, soil, or a sprinkling of pixie dust, but my new garden is growing like gangbusters. I’m nervous to even type those words out loud for fear of jinxing it. If this is what winter looks like can you even imagine what spring and summer will bring?

peach blossoms

I'm not sure of the peach varietal for this tree, guess we will have to wait for summer to find out!

garden box

I put together the trellis using skinny bamboo and garden twine.

orange tree

We've been drinking fresh OJ every morning, what a treat.

dog fishing

Happy dog, she thinks she's a cat. Shortly after I snapped this shot we had a little fish funeral.
